When we say tennis is alive and well in Maine, we're talking to a great extent about the tremendous popularity of the USTA-sponsored USTA League Tennis.  It's competitive fun for players at all skill and experience levels. The season runs October through June with matches played in both Southern and Northern Maine. For a list of season dates for leagues check season dates.

To get involved you need to join a team of players at your level  according to the National Tennis Rating Program, be an active member of the USTA Tennis New England/Maine Tennis Association, or you might think about forming a team yourself.  Maine uses a dynamic rating system to ensure equal competition levels are maintained.  Once on a team, remember that you must play in at least two local matches to qualify to compete at the sectional or the national level.
