Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness today announced it will holds its annual Tennis for Tedford fundraiser on May 1 at the club from 5:30 to 9 p.m. All proceeds from the event go to Tedford Housing, a Brunswick-based nonprofit seeking to end homelessness in midcoast Maine by providing shelter, housing and services to those in need.

 The evening will begin with a professional mixed doubles match featuring Cindy Holbach, NCAA Division 1 runner-up and ranked #1 at University of North Carolina; Kevin Vincent, director of tennis at Maine Pines and ranked at the University of Southern Maine and St. Anselm College; Pam Dodman, currently nationally ranked; and Spencer Gray, Jr., currently ranked by ITF and New England National.

 Following the exhibition match, there will be round robin mixed doubles for players of all levels. Jazz guitarist Neil Lamb will perform throughout the evening and hor d’oeuvres will be provided by Simply Elegant Catering of Brunswick. A new Wilson tennis racquet will be raffled off, and there will also be a drawing for a free subscription to Port City Life magazine.

 “We are proud to once again hold this event to benefit Tedford Housing,” said Kevin Vincent, tennis director of Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness. “Tennis for Tedford allows the public to come out and have fun playing and watching tennis while also raising money for a worthy cause.”

 Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door for adults, $70 in advance or $75 at the door per couple, and $20 for ages 18 and under.
